Facelift

Facelift, or Rhytidectomy (in Ancient Greek (rhytis) “wrinkle”+(ektome) “excision”) it refers to the plastic surgery that gives a more youthful facial appearance, and the perfect way to remove or reduce the appearance of wrinkles and flabby facial skin caused by age, and tightening the skin.
A facelift surgery:
-Prettify many areas of the face in one operation
-Make you appear ten to fifteen years younger
-Reshape the neck and jawline better than other ways

When to Consider a Facelift?

Feel that your face does not show your youthful soul and energy level
Find that your facial sagging and flabby skin is a social or career obstacle
See some signs of facial aging but still have skin flexibility
Look in the mirror and recognize that age, gravity, sun exposure and heredity have affected on your skin and you simply do not look like yourself any more.

How is facelift done?

Facelifts are typically joint with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) and other facial surgery and usually performed under general anesthesia or deep twilight sleep.
The facelift surgery is performed through a crack starting from the hairline above and in front of the ear (the temporal area), and is extended downward until it comes under the ear and then upward behind the ear ending at the hair behind the ear.
The skin and fatty tissues are then lifted off the underlying muscle and connective tissue as much as is necessary to correct the baggy skin problem,The skin is pulled back and upward and the excess skin removed.
The wound is then closed with sutures and medical metal clips. Some surgeons leave a drain in the wounds to remove excess blood. Bandages are then applied.

After the Facelift

The patient should avoid Aspirin or any medications that the doctor saw it will be bad for the first week after surgery, and smoking or being next of a smoker should be avoided to prevent delays in the healing duration.
Avoid being exposed to sun for 3 months and follow the doctor’s instruction accurately to get the best results safely and painlessly.

The common complications

Scarring, swelling and bruising, hair loss, skin loss
All of those problems will not last more than 4 month
